Lounged on a wharf on the French Riviera the Bondi Hipsters catch some rays in one of the planet’s most glamorous cities.

YouTube sensations Connor Van Vuuren and Nicholas Boshier have just finished a photo call as part of the Screen Australia promotion of indie Australian content creators at MIPTV.

“It’s a real hoot because we get to see the world,” Nic says.

In 2014 the Van Vuuren brothers (including collaboratorChristiaan) and Boshier teamed up to make and star in the ABCTV2series Soul Mates about a pair of time travelling, fashion-obsessed Bondi Hipsters.

They had previously collaborated on the web series Bondi Hipsters about a duo obsessed with their healthy, organic lifestyle by the sea that included daily soy lattes and goji berries.

But today there are no smug or demur poses for these boys for the international press but athletic leaps and pile ups in front of the Cannes yachts highlighting their Australian sense of fun and sport that  Europeans are so taken by.

We’ve planned to do our interview on the merry-go-round on the main boulevard Croisette, but after a Cannesque night out, their invigorating leaps and a rather strict look from their media minder, it’s not worth the risk of losing them to fans or management.

And the wharf behind us does look appealing in the sun.

As we set up the cameras and mic, they check out the boats.

“It’s so disco that one. That’s not a low profile, I’d say that’s ironic,” says Nic, pointing to a ridiculously expensive looking boat named Low Profile.
